Coal-Burning Electric Power Plants Report O&M Savings with Benetech's InteliFlo™

Coal Transfer System Targets Inefficiencies,
Dust and Eliminates Unnecessary Auxiliary Equipment

March, 2006, Montgomery, IL - Benetech, Inc. has announced that its customers who are using the InteliFlo transfer system are reporting substantial savings in operating and maintenance costs:

  • PSEG Bridgeport Harbor dramatically reduced costs associated with maintaining full-length skirt boards, hoods, and seal systems-all eliminated with the installation of an InteliFlo system. PSEG was also able to improve its bottom line through the virtual elimination of spillage occurring at the load point and downstream.

  • Xcel Energy's Arapahoe Generating Station was also experiencing the operational inefficiencies associated with traditional transfer designs. The InteliFlo skirtless transfer system addressed these concerns by eliminating the need for skirts and seals, which resulted in lower upkeep and reduced operational (clean-up) costs.

  • FirstEnergy Lake Shore had experienced problems gaining control of material flow as it moved through an existing transfer system. Benetech evaluated the system, and, after implementing InteliFlo, the plant realized immediate savings in spillage and clean-up, and continued savings on reduced seal repairs and the total elimination of skirt board repairs costs.
